Écoles d'été Micronclean : Megan

Chacun des étudiants sélectionnés s'est vu confier un projet en rapport avec les matières qu'il étudie et a non seulement aidé Micronclean, mais a également permis à l'étudiant de développer ses compétences et ses connaissances sur le lieu de travail.

Nous pensons que notre première université d'été a été un véritable succès et qu'elle a été bénéfique à la fois pour l'entreprise et pour les étudiants eux-mêmes. Toutefois, il est peut-être plus facile d'en juger par les propos des étudiants eux-mêmes.

My day-to-day includes identifying the components of each cleanroom consumable product and their materials, as well as evaluating their recyclability so that I can provide guidance on how to properly dispose of them and recommend product development changes that align with Micronclean's SKIES and future goals.

I have learnt a lot about materials, specifically different plastic and fabric types that are used within the cleanroom industry and current plastic, textile recycling and reduction technology. Material science and sustainability are an interest of mine so this project has enabled me to learn and apply my existing knowledge and skills to help Micronclean increase their sustainability.

Through my chemistry degree, I have learnt about regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices but my summer placement has given me a first-hand appreciation of these in practice and further understanding of their importance.

Additionally, my summer placement has allowed me to improve my communication, project planning and leadership skills, which I can apply to my future studies and career.
