Écoles d'été Micronclean : Emily et Jake

Chacun des étudiants sélectionnés s'est vu confier un projet en rapport avec les matières qu'il étudie et qui a non seulement aidé Micronclean, mais aussi permis à l'étudiant de développer ses compétences et ses connaissances sur le lieu de travail.

Nous pensons que notre première université d'été a été un véritable succès et qu'elle a été bénéfique à la fois pour l'entreprise et pour les étudiants eux-mêmes. Toutefois, il est peut-être plus facile d'en juger par les propos des étudiants eux-mêmes.

The main part of our placement was supporting the Micronclean In House Testing Laboratory with routine testing, such as particulate testing on garments and goggles laundered at the Roman Bank site, environmental monitoring in our cleanrooms and bioburden testing on our water systems and liquid products. Alongside this, we also assisted with ad-hoc testing, such as developing and performing standard test methods for syringe testing for MicronDevices. Finally, we also were involved with equipment validations.

During our time in the testing laboratory we were fully supported by Caitlin Lowes, Laboratory Lead at Micronclean.

This experience has helped us gain a much better insight into the day-to-day activities of a laboratory and allowed us to see potential day to day practical applications of our university degrees.
